Tuesday, June 5th
We begin our 11-day tour of the Emerald Isle with an overnight flight from SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA to SHANNON, IRELAND. Dinner will be served onboard the plane. D
Wednesday, June 6th
This morning before our arrival, we will be served a breakfast snack onboard the airplane. Upon our arrival at Shannon Airport, we will be met by our driver/guide and brought to our private coach. As we drive to GALWAY, have your cameras ready as we stop along the way to admire the stunning and picturesque Cliffs of Moher. After we arrive in Galway, we will be taken to our first-class hotel where we will check-in and relax. Tonight we will enjoy a special “welcome dinner” before retiring for the evening. D
Thursday, June 7th
Following breakfast this morning, we will depart for the (optional tour) of Kylemore Abbey & Gardensand the Connemara Marble Factory! We will stop along the way to view the bridge from “The Quiet Man” and take photos. Tonight, for those who have signed up to participate, the INTERNATIONAL QUILT FESTIVAL OF IRELAND kicks off with a very special Grand Reception. This special event consists of a champagne reception, a welcome presentation by festival director and Sew Many Places founder, Jim West, a keynote address by quilt legend Jinny Beyer, followed by a delicious formal dinner, and a one-hour Riverdance review show by Trad on the Prom! Trad on the Prom is Ireland's #1 music, song and dance show. Their performers hold 15 World Titles and the show is one of the holiday highlights for thousands of visitors each year. Space is limited for this GRAND RECEPTION and cost is 125 Euros per person. Reserving your space early is highly recommended as this will sell out with no uncertainty! B

This morning after a delicious breakfast, you will have an opportunity to enjoy the festival (admission cost included). Tonight, we are offering a very special “optional dinner” at the famous BUNRATTY CASTLE for a medieval banquet and show and the cost is 82 Euros per person. B

Monday, June 11th
This morning following breakfast, we will depart to Dublin, where we will enjoy a PANORAMIC TOUR OF THE CITY. Although Dublin has blossomed into a modern, bustling city, it still retains the graceful, charmed atmosphere of an earlier time. The Georgian squares, terraces, and the walk along River Liffey are evidence of this. We will visit the famed Book of Kells, which features some of the most influential Celtic art ever created. After a spot of shopping, we will make our way back to Galway where your evening is free for you to enjoy! B
Tuesday, June 12th
This morning following breakfast, we will check out of our hotel and make our way to LIMERICK. Along the way we will stop at Clonmacnoise, the ancient Irish monastic settlement featuring Irish High Crosses, a stone Round Tower and many examples of Celtic art. On our arrival at our hotel in Limerick, we will enjoy a lovely dinner together. B, D
Wednesday, June 13th
This morning following a delicious Irish breakfast, we will explore the beautiful and historic city of LIMERICK. We will visit King John’s Castle, St Mary’s Cathedral, and The Treaty Stone as well as The Hunt Museum, which exhibits one of Ireland's greatest private collections of art and antiquities, dating from the Neolithic to the 20th Century. For those interested, there will also be an optional walking tour of Limerick based on the best-selling novel “Angela’s Ashes” by Frank McCourt. This tour will take you around the many locations mentioned in the autobiographical book. The evening is free for you to enjoy. B
Thursday, June 14th
Today following a delicious Irish breakfast, we will drive toward ADARE. Along the way we will stop at the Celtic Park and Gardens. Built on a Celtic settlement which later became one of the most important Cromwellian plantations, the Celtic Park and Gardens were built to interpret Ireland’s past. An early Ringfort is preserved in the park, along with exhibits of stone circles, dolmens, a holy well, a stone church, and other physical structures associated with ancient Ireland. Afterwards we will travel to ADARE, a beautiful picturesque village. After a spot of shopping, and some lunch, we will visit the Irish Dresden, famed for its handcrafted porcelain dipped lace. Tonight we will wrap up our day and tour with a very special “farewell dinner” at our hotel. B, D
Friday, June 15th
This morning, following breakfast, we will say goodbye to the enchanting Emerald Isle and drive to the SHANNON AIRPORT for our flight back to SAN FRANCISCO. B

Depending on weather conditions and circumstances beyond our control, the itinerary, pricing and escorts are subject to change. We will make every attempt to adhere to the program, but we ask that you be flexible if alternative choices are made to enhance the schedule. Optional tour costs, craft workshops, and hands on quilting classes are not included in this price and must be paid with final payment. Gratuities will be accepted as a check only, and collected in March, 2012. Insurance is available and highly recommended.
